Police Release E Fit Of Man Being Hunted After Woman Is Raped At Knifepoint On Wasteland
This e-fit shows the man being hunted by police after a woman was raped at knifepoint.
Police said the woman was approached by the unknown man, who asked her for the time before pulling her to nearby waste ground in the Everton area of Liverpool.
He threatened her with a knife and then raped her.
The victim managed to get away from the attacker – but only after the assault.
Officers have not revealed the exact location of the incident.
The man is described as being white, of a stocky build with scruffy, short, curly auburn or brown hair.
He had an Irish accent and was wearing caramel-coloured rigger boots, jeans and a shirt, reports the Liverpool Echo .
Det Con Sarah Rose, from Merseyside Police, said: “The victim was subjected to a horrific ordeal and was left extremely shaken by this incident.
"We have specially trained officers who support the victims of rape offences working with the victim to help bring this offender to justice.
“This incident was extremely distressing for the victim, but she has taken the time to help police construct the e-fit and we would ask everybody to take a look to see if they recognise the man so he can be apprehended.
“Thankfully incidents such as this are rare and I’d like to reassure people we are doing everything we can to arrest the person responsible.”
After the attack, which occurred at around 10pm on November 4, house-to-house enquiries were carried out by officers and CCTV footage was checked.
Specially trained officers from Merseyside Police Unity Team and Safe Place Merseyside (Sexual Offences Referral Centre) are supporting the woman.
