Manchester United News And Transfers Red Devils To Move For Sergio Busquets
Here are today”s Red Devils stories from the Mirror…
United target slams his “pathetic” Dortmund side
Mats Hummels last night branded Borussia Dortmund “pathetic” as he raised major doubts about his future there.
The defender is a January target for Manchester United and his remarkable attack may have opened the door to him leaving.
The 26-year-old would cost United more than £45million, but he is also on the radar of Europe’s other top clubs.
German giants Dortmund finish 2014 second bottom of the Bundesliga after a 2-1 defeat at Werder Bremen in their last game before the winter break.
World Cup winner Hummels said: “We’ve managed pretty well at home in recent weeks, but not at all away.
“It’s pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic.”

Fellaini cleared of drink driving
Manchester United ace Marouane Fellaini was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving just hours after he helped his team beat Liverpool.
The 27-year-old midfielder later walked free when a second breath test taken in a police station found he was under the limit.
The Red Devils had earlier thrashed Liverpool 3-0 at home in a Sunday game.
Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after 5.20am on December 15 officers stopped a Mercedes.
“The driver was given a breath test and arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.
“Following the results of a second breath test conducted in police custody the man was de-arrested.”

Carrick: Falcao will hit the goal trail
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has backed teammate Radamel Falcao to hit the goal trail.
The Colombian striker scored United”s equaliser against Aston Villa in Saturday”s 1-1 draw as the Red Devils” six-game winning run came to an end.
Falcao, who is on a season-long loan from Monaco, netted in his first start since October, and Carrick has tipped the South American to add to his tally.

In an interview with the club”s in-house TV station, midfielder Carrick said: "He”s scored so many goals over the years and you always feel that when he gets that chance he will score.
"He”s scored a terrific header again and I”m pleased for him. After being out for a bit, that”s him back and hopefully he can go on a bit of a streak for us and we, as a team, can return to winning ways and get on a roll again.

United to move for Sergio Busquets?
Manchester United are plotting a summer move for Barcelona”s Sergio Busquets, reports the Daily Express.
The Spain international is one of world football”s top midfield schemers, and is also being hunted by the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG.
According to reports in Germany, Barcelona are eager to offer Busquets a new deal as Luis Enrique looks to rebuild the club following a disastrous campaign last season.
However, like former team-mate Victor Valdes, Busquets is keeping his eye open for a new challenge after spending his entire career so far with the Catalan giants.
Valdes is now training in England with United, and Busquets could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League next summer.
Paul Lambert “unsure” over Ron Vlaar”s future
Aston Villa manager concedes Dutch captain "holds the card" six months before his contract expires at Villa Park, Manchester Evening News reports.

Paul Lambert believes Manchester United can still push for the Premier League title – but hopes that won’t be enough to see Ron Vlaar swap Villa Park for Old Trafford.
The Dutch international continues to be linked with a move to United, where he would be reunited with his former Holland manager Louis van Gaal.
He is out of contract in the summer – leading to suggestions that Villa could cash in on him in January, rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
United to miss out on Enzo Perez?
Valencia based newspaper Super Deporte are reporting that a deal has been agreed in principle for the Spanish club to sign United target Enzo Perez.
Perez has a reported release clause of €30m, but due to a lack of competition (as it seems), Valencia are hoping to secure a deal within €25m, and are confident of completing the transfer in the first week of January.
