EastEnders, BBC1, 8pm

It’s Ladies’ Night at the Queen Vic – a chance for the women of Walford to get maudlin and wasted and for Shirley to insist that Dean move back into “her” pub.

Shirley, the lad is the 27-year-old boss of a hipster East London salon.

Do you really think moving in with his mum and grandad is going to enhance his street cred?

At least tonight’s cabaret is more enjoyable than Mick’s Incredible Hulk impression at Christmas.

Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm

Of all the developments in Emmerdale tonight – Finn blaming Moira for his mum’s disappearance, Belle finally getting treatment for her mental health issues, Sam’s gold-digging friend Tracy finding an ally in Val – it’s the longing looks which Charity is casting in Cain’s direction that are the most worrying.

Her trial starts next week, so Moira should be hoping Charity will get sent down until she’s got him out of her system again.

Coronation Street, ITV, 7:30pm and 8:30pm

After Michael’s collapse at his own engagement party, the doctor warns him to avoid any stress.

So this probably wouldn’t be the best moment for Not-Gavin to reveal that he’s not actually his son at all.

We’re not sure that Steph’s heart will exactly soar either when he finally confesses to her that his real name is Andrew.
