Coronation Streets Week Ahead Beth And Kirks 80s Themed Wedding Threatened By Cackling Witches
Dig out your day-glo legwarmers, back comb your hair and dust down your Duran Duran albums. Yes, it’s time for Beth and Kirk’s 80s-themed wedding.
But before the big day on Friday there’s a flurry of Tinker arrivals as Beth’s gran Agnes, mum Nancy and her Aunty Arlene all trot into town.
The trio are impressed when they arrive at Beth’s and mistake builder Jason for the groom, with his “any excuse to strip off” pert pecs on display.
However, when Beth sets them straight and Kirk walks into the room, their faces fall in unmasked disappointment. How charming!
It’s a kick in the teeth for poor old Kirk who later overhears the cackling witches bitching about him.
As Beth excitedly prepares for the big day, Kirk’s self-confidence is lying in a pool on the lino floor.
His speech preparation is a shambles, he’s fretting about his outfit and the fact that Beth’s family clearly think he’s a loser puts a downer on his stag night.
ITVSecond thought? Kirk”s a nervous wreck
As his pals down their beers on Wednesday, Kirk declares he can’t go through with the wedding because he’s clearly not good enough for Beth. Will best man Ches be able to talk some sense into him?
As the wedding day arrives, Beth is a vision in her Madonna-inspired wedding outfit and her Bananarama bridesmaids Tracy, Maria and Sinead are a sight for sore eyes.
There’s only one problem – there’s absolutely no sign of Adam Ant, the groom.
Have nerves and Kirk’s plummeting self-esteem really got the better of him, or will Beth’s Prince Charming make it?
ITVFlirty: Michelle catches up with Hamish
Is Michelle moving on from moping Steve?
Actor James Redmond has certainly done the soap rounds. He started in Hollyoaks, did a long stint pounding the wards in Casualty, skipped off to Emmerdale and now here he is in Corrie.
Next stop Walford? Not if Michelle can help it.
The part-time party planner’s eyes light up when she meets a new client called Hamish (played by Redmond) who needs help planning his daughter’s 21st.
The pair instantly hit if off and when Hamish asks her out for a drink, despite initial reservations, she agrees.
The fact that Steve is still languishing under his duvet and doing zilch to sort out the Street Cars trail of destruction helps propel her out of the door and over to the Bistro where she and Hamish clearly enjoy each other’s company.
Could this be the start of a new romance or is Michelle just using Hamish to make Steve jealous? Either way, there’s a definite spark between them.
Steve, you have been warned.
Meanwhile, with Kylie still AWOL there’s fresh panic for the Platts when little Max goes missing and the finger of blame points squarely at Callum.
Uh oh. Let’s hope he hasn’t taken him to The Dog And Gun…
ITVIs that wise? David reports Callum to the police
David adds to his own problems
It’s not often we feel sorry for David, but this is one of those rare occasions.
With Kylie still missing and her dope-dealing ex Callum loitering, the desperate crimper decides to call the police.
Unsurprisingly, repugnant Callum’s a little peeved to discover David has involved the law and reported him for selling drugs. Better watch your back, mate!
