Britains Top 10 Burglary Hot Spots Find Out If Your Postcode Is In There
It’s the title no one wants to win – but the East London district of Dagenham is the top of the table for break-ins.
An annual Burglary Tracker revealed five postcodes listed among Britain’s Top 10 for insurance payouts are located in North East and East London.
Dagenham’s RM8 postcode had 55 claims per 1,000 home insurance quotes and an average payout of £5,117 in the last year, while nearby Gants Hill scored 54.9, with claims slightly higher at £6,581.
Manchester suburb Chorlton-cum-Hardy slipped from No1 last year to No3, with Intake and Wheatley in South Yorks fourth in MoneySuperMarket.com’s poll.

The BD2 postcode covering Eccleshill, Fagley and Ashbourne in West Yorks was the only other postcode outside London to appear in the Top10.
Analysis of 2.68 million home insurance quotes showed 14 of the 20 most burgled postcodes were around Greater London.
The poll found one in five UK properties had been burgled in the last five years.
One in 10 victims admitted they were so shaken they left lights on overnight.
Mark Castle, of Victim Support said: “The psychological impact of this crime can be drastic and long lasting.”
Those looking for peace of mind should head to Middlesbrough, Canterbury in Kent or Bognor Regis in West Sussex. They were among the lowest in the poll.
