Arsenal news and transfers: Gunners 'lead Edinson Cavani race after PSG star left out of training camp'
Here are today”s Gunners stories from the Daily Mirror…
Welbeck: We should have finished West Ham off
A relieved Danny Welbeck believes Arsenal”s narrow win over West Ham United should have been more comfortable.
The £16million England striker scored the second goal to add to Santi Cazorla”s penalty as a quick-fire double gave the Gunners a 2-0 advantage at the break.
However, Chiekhou Kouyate responded for the home side and Arsene Wenger”s charges were forced to withstand heavy pressure in the closing stages as West Ham bombarded the Arsenal box with high balls.
This came after Hammers goalkeeper Adrian kept the hosts in the game with a number of eye-catching saves in the second period, and Welbeck was disappointed the result was not secured sooner.
He told the club”s official website: “I think we had a couple of opportunities [to seal the win]. I had one and a couple of the other players had opportunities to finish the game off earlier, so we’re a bit disappointed with that.

Podolski in the dark
Lukas Podolski is being kept in the dark about his Arsenal future.
Podolski, 29, is aware of Inter Milan”s interest as Roberto Mancini wants to sign him on loan until the summer.
World Cup winner Podolski, who is on £100,000-a-week at the Emirates, is in no rush to leave Arsenal but wants to play more regularly and has become fed-up of only being a bit-part player.
But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has not said a word to Podolski about his future or any potential January moves, despite Inter”s interest becoming public.
Inter are confident of tying up a deal but Podolski still has not been told whether Arsenal will allow him to leave in January.
