Amir Khans Dream Fight With Floyd Mayweather In Doubt As American Confirms He Wants Pacquiao Next
Amir Khan”s hopes of fighting Floyd Mayweather Junior have been hit after the world”s pound-for-pound king claimed he wants Manny Pacquiao next.
Negotiations for this super-fight have begun after rival promoters Oscar De La Hoya and Bob Arum made peace and Mayweather says the Filipino is his first choice for his next outing on May 2.
“Absolutely,” Mayweather told US broadcaster Showtime. “Absolutely, I would love to fight Manny Pacquiao.

“We were trying to make this fight happen years ago and we had problems with random blood and urine testing. I just want an even playing field.
“Now he”s in a very tight situation. He”s lost to Marquez, he”s lost to Bradley.
“Pay-per-view numbers are down extremely low, so he”s desperate.

“I”ve been wanting that fight a long time. I”m just waiting on them.
“Floyd Mayweather is not ducking or dodging any opponent. Bob Arum is stopping the fight.

Khan will be disappointed by Mayweather”s comments and he hopes to beat Devon Alexander in the early hours of tomorrow at the MGM Grand Garden Arena to enhance his standing.
The Bolton boxer will hope negotiations between Mayweather and Pacquiao break down, as they have done before, and that he may yet face the American.
